Recipients of personal data
In the scope of our business activities, we cooperate with various external parties. In some cases, this also requires the transfer of personal data to these external parties. We only disclose personal data to external parties if this is required as part of the fulfillment of a contract, if we are legally obligated to do so (e.g., disclosure of data to tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest in the disclosure pursuant to Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR, or if another legal basis permits the disclosure of this data. When using processors, we only disclose personal data of our customers on the basis of a valid contract on data processing. In the case of joint processing, a joint processing agreement is concluded.
Revocation of your consent to the processing of data
A wide range of data processing transactions are possible only subject to your express consent. You can also revoke at any time any consent you have already given us. This shall be without prejudice to the lawfulness of any data collection that occurred prior to your revocation.
Right to object to the collection of data in special cases; right to object to direct advertising (Art. 21 GDPR)
IN THE EVENT THAT DATA ARE PROCESSED ON THE BASIS OF ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO AT ANY TIME OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA BASED ON GROUNDS ARISING FROM YOUR UNIQUE SITUATION. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO ANY PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. TO DETERMINE THE LEGAL BASIS, ON WHICH ANY PROCESSING OF DATA IS BASED, PLEASE CONSULT THIS DATA PROTECTION DECLARATION. IF YOU LOG AN OBJECTION, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR AFFECTED PERSONAL DATA, UNLESS WE ARE IN A POSITION TO PRESENT COMPELLING PROTECTION WORTHY GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING OF YOUR DATA, THAT OUTWEIGH YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS OR IF THE PURPOSE OF THE PROCESSING IS THE CLAIMING, EXERCISING OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL ENTITLEMENTS (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21(1) GDPR).
IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS BEING PROCESSED IN ORDER TO ENGAGE IN DIRECT ADVERTISING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR AFFECTED PERSONAL DATA FOR THE PURPOSES OF SUCH ADVERTISING AT ANY TIME. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING TO THE EXTENT THAT IT IS AFFILIATED WITH SUCH DIRECT ADVERTISING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL SUBSEQUENTLY NO LONGER BE USED FOR DIRECT ADVERTISING PURPOSES (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21(2) GDPR).
Right to log a complaint with the competent supervisory agency
In the event of violations of the GDPR, data subjects are entitled to log a complaint with a supervisory agency, in particular in the member state where they usually maintain their domicile, place of work or at the place where the alleged violation occurred. The right to log a complaint is in effect regardless of any other administrative or court proceedings available as legal recourses.
Right to data portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfillment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you should demand the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will be done only if it is technically feasible.
Information about, rectification and eradication of data
Within the scope of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right to demand information about your archived personal data, their source and recipients as well as the purpose of the processing of your data at any time. You may also have a right to have your data rectified or eradicated. If you have questions about this subject matter or any other questions about personal data, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.
Right to demand processing restrictions
You have the right to demand the imposition of restrictions as far as the processing of your personal data is concerned. To do so, you may contact us at any time. The right to demand restriction of processing applies in the following cases:
- In the event that you should dispute the correctness of your data archived by us, we will usually need some time to verify this claim. During the time that this investigation is ongoing, you have the right to demand that we restrict the processing of your personal data.
- If the processing of your personal data was/is conducted in an unlawful manner, you have the option to demand the restriction of the processing of your data instead of demanding the eradication of this data.
- If we do not need your personal data any longer and you need it to exercise, defend or claim legal entitlements, you have the right to demand the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of its eradication.
- If you have raised an objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR, your rights and our rights will have to be weighed against each other. As long as it has not been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to demand a restriction of the processing of your personal data.
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, these data – with the exception of their archiving – may be processed only subject to your consent or to claim, exercise or defend legal entitlements or to protect the rights of other natural persons or legal entities or for important public interest reasons cited by the European Union or a member state of the EU.
SSL and/or TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as purchase orders or inquiries you submit to us as the website operator, this website uses either an SSL or a TLS encryption program. You can recognize an encrypted connection by checking whether the address line of the browser switches from “http://” to “https://” and also by the appearance of the lock icon in the browser line.
If the SSL or TLS encryption is activated, data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Rejection of unsolicited e-mails
We herewith object to the use of contact information published in conjunction with the mandatory information to be provided in our Site Notice to send us promotional and information material that we have not expressly requested. The operators of this website and its pages reserve the express right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of promotional information, for instance via SPAM messages.
4. Recording of data on this website
Cookies
Our websites and pages use what the industry refers to as “cookies.” Cookies are small data packages that do not cause any damage to your device. They are either stored temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or they are permanently archived on your device (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted once you terminate your visit. Permanent cookies remain archived on your device until you actively delete them, or they are automatically eradicated by your web browser.
Cookies can be issued by us (first-party cookies) or by third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services of third-party companies into websites (e.g., cookies for handling payment services).
Cookies have a variety of functions. Many cookies are technically essential since certain website functions would not work in the absence of these cookies (e.g., the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies may be used to analyze user behavior or for promotional purposes.
Cookies, which are required for the performance of electronic communication transactions, for the provision of certain functions you want to use (e.g., for the shopping cart function) or those that are necessary for the optimization (required cookies) of the website (e.g., cookies that provide measurable insights into the web audience), shall be stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, unless a different legal basis is cited. The operator of the website has a legitimate interest in the storage of required cookies to ensure the technically error-free and optimized provision of the operator’s services. If your consent to the storage of the cookies and similar recognition technologies has been requested, the processing occurs exclusively on the basis of the consent obtained (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG); this consent may be revoked at any time.
You have the option to set up your browser in such a manner that you will be notified any time cookies are placed and to permit the acceptance of cookies only in specific cases. You may also exclude the acceptance of cookies in certain cases or in general or activate the delete-function for the automatic eradication of cookies when the browser closes. If cookies are deactivated, the functions of this website may be limited.
If other cookies and services are used on this website, you can find this information in this privacy policy.
CCM19
Our website uses CCM19 to obtain your consent for the storage of certain cookies on your device or for the use of specific technologies and to document the former in a data protection compliant manner. The provider of this technology is Papoo Software & Media GmbH, Auguststr. 4, 53229 Bonn, Germany (hereinafter referred to as “CCM19”).
When you access our website, a connection with the servers of CCM19 is established to obtain your consent and other declarations related to the use of cookies. Subsequently, CCM19 will store a cookie in your browser to be able to allocate the granted consent or revocation. The data generated using this system will be archived by us until you ask us to delete it, delete the CCM19 cookie yourself or the purpose for the archiving of the data no longer applies. This shall be without prejudice to any mandatory statutory archiving periods.
We use CCM19 to obtain the consent mandated by law for the use of cookies. The legal basis for this is Art.6 (1)(1)(f) GDPR.
Data processing
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a contract mandated by data privacy laws that guarantees that they process personal data of our website visitors only based on our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
Server log files
The provider of this website and its pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser communicates to us automatically. The information comprises:
- The type and version of browser used
- The used operating system
- Referrer URL
- The hostname of the accessing computer
- The time of the server inquiry
- The IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources.
This data is recorded on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The operator of the website has a legitimate interest in the technically error free depiction and the optimization of the operator’s website. In order to achieve this, server log files must be recorded.
Contact form
If you submit inquiries to us via our contact form, the information provided in the contact form as well as any contact information provided therein will be stored by us in order to handle your inquiry and in the event that we have further questions. We will not share this information without your consent.
The processing of these data is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, if your request is related to the execution of a contract or if it is necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures. In all other cases the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the requests addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your agreement (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) if this has been requested; the consent can be revoked at any time.
The information you have entered into the contact form shall remain with us until you ask us to eradicate the data, revoke your consent to the archiving of data or if the purpose for which the information is being archived no longer exists (e.g., after we have concluded our response to your inquiry). This shall be without prejudice to any mandatory legal provisions, in particular retention periods.
Request by e-mail, telephone, or fax
If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or fax, your request, including all resulting personal data (name, request) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of processing your request. We do not pass these data on without your consent.
These data are processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your inquiry is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is required for the performance of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the data are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in the effective handling of inquiries submitted to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) if it has been obtained; the consent can be revoked at any time.
The data sent by you to us via contact requests remain with us until you request us to delete, revoke your consent to the storage or the purpose for the data storage lapses (e.g. after completion of your request). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.
5. Newsletter
Newsletter data
If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter offered on this website, we will need from you an e-mail address as well as information that allow us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and consent to the receipt of the newsletter. No further data shall be collected or shall be collected only on a voluntary basis. We shall use such data only for the sending of the requested information and shall not share such data with any third parties.
The processing of the information entered into the newsletter subscription form shall occur exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may revoke the consent you have given to the archiving of data, the e-mail address, and the use of this information for the sending of the newsletter at any time, for instance by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter. This shall be without prejudice to the lawfulness of any data processing transactions that have taken place to date.
The data deposited with us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter or the newsletter service provider and deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe from the newsletter or after the purpose has ceased to apply. We reserve the right to delete or block e-mail addresses from our newsletter distribution list at our own discretion within the scope of our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Data stored for other purposes with us remain unaffected.
After you unsubscribe from the newsletter distribution list, your e-mail address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist, if such action is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist is used only for this purpose and not merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with the legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The storage in the blacklist is indefinite. You may object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.
Newsletter mailing to existing customers
If you order goods or services from us and enter your e-mail address, this e-mail address may subsequently be used by us to send you newsletters, provided we inform you of this in advance. In such a case, only direct advertising for our own similar goods or services will be sent via the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from this newsletter at any time. There is a corresponding link in every newsletter for this purpose. In this case, the legal basis for sending the newsletter is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR in conjunction with Section 7 (3) UWG.
After you unsubscribe from the newsletter distribution list, we may store your email address in a blacklist to prevent future mailings to you. The data from the blacklist will only be used for this purpose and will not be merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with the legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You can object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.
6. Plug-ins and Tools
YouTube with expanded data protection integration
This website integrates videos from the YouTube website. The operator of the website is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
When you visit one of these websites on which YouTube is integrated, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This tells the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
We use YouTube in extended data protection mode. According to YouTube, videos that are played in extended data protection mode are not used to personalize browsing on YouTube. Ads that are played in extended data protection mode are also not personalized. No cookies are set in extended data protection mode. Instead, so-called local storage elements are stored in the user’s browser, which contain personal data similar to cookies and can be used for recognition. Details on the extended data protection mode can be found here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/171780 (opens in a new window).
After activating a YouTube video, further data processing operations may be triggered over which we have no influence.
The use of YouTube is based on our interest in presenting our online content in an appealing manner. Pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, this is a legitimate interest. If appropriate consent has been obtained, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG, insofar the consent includes the storage of cookies or the access to information in the user’s end device (e.g., device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TDDDG. This consent can be revoked at any time.
For more information on how YouTube handles user data, please consult the YouTube Data Privacy Policy under: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en (opens in a new window).
The company is certified in accordance with the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the US, which is intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the US. Every company certified under the DPF is obliged to comply with these data protection standards. For more information, please contact the provider under the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/5780 (opens in a new window).
Additional information on the services used on this website
The following sections supplement the privacy policy above. They describe every service, tool and processing operation actually used on stoffwechselfit.com – each with its purpose, data categories, legal basis, retention period, recipients and your options to withdraw consent or object. The controller is SSN Computer GmbH & Co. KG, Peter-Fix-Straße 37, 53474 Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, Germany (see the section “Information on the controller”).
Hosting on our own infrastructure (SSN Computer GmbH & Co. KG)
Purpose: This website runs on infrastructure owned and operated by SSN Computer GmbH & Co. KG. There is no external hosting provider with access to visitor data. When a page is requested, the web server automatically records server log files in order to deliver the website, detect faults and ward off attacks.
Data categories: IP address, date and time of access, page or file requested, amount of data transferred, HTTP status code, browser type and version, operating system, previously visited page (referrer).
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in providing the website securely, reliably and free of errors.
Retention: Server log files are deleted automatically after 14 days, unless they are exceptionally required for longer to investigate a specific security incident.
Recipients / third countries: No transfer to third parties, no transfer to a third country. The servers are located in Germany.
Objection: You may object to the processing on grounds relating to your particular situation under Art. 21 GDPR. Without processing the log files, however, the website cannot technically be delivered.
Consent management with CCM19
Purpose: We use the consent management tool CCM19 to obtain and document your consent to the storage of cookies and the use of services that require consent (currently Google AdSense only, see below), and to let you change your decision at any time. The provider is Papoo Software & Media GmbH, Auf dem Hahnenberg 51, 56218 Mülheim-Kärlich, Germany. CCM19 is integrated as a cloud service: the consent script is loaded from cloud.ccm19.de.
Data categories: Your consent or refusal decision for each service, the time of the decision, the version of the consent text and a randomly generated identifier that links the decision to your browser. This information is stored in the cookie ccm_consent on your device.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (compliance with the legal obligation to obtain and prove consent) together with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and Section 25(2) of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG), because the cookie is strictly necessary to store your decision.
Retention: The cookie ccm_consent is valid for one year. After that, or after you delete your browser cookies, you will be asked again.
Recipients / third countries: When the script is loaded from cloud.ccm19.de, Papoo Software & Media GmbH receives your IP address and technical connection data and stores your consent decision as research on our behalf. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider. The servers are located in Germany; no transfer to a third country takes place.
Change / withdrawal: You can view and change your decision at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the page footer. A withdrawal takes effect for the future.
LiteSpeed Cache (strictly necessary cookies)
Purpose: To deliver pages faster we use the web server’s caching function (LiteSpeed Cache). It may set strictly necessary cookies that tell the server which variant of a page to deliver (for example whether you are logged in or which language you have chosen).
Data categories: Technical flags without personal reference (cache variant, logged-in status as a yes/no flag). No user profiles are created and no data is collected for analysis.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG. Our legitimate interest lies in short loading times and low server load.
Retention: The cookies are deleted automatically at the end of the browser session or after a short lifetime.
Recipients / third countries: None. Processing takes place exclusively on our server.
Objection: As no consent is required there is no right of withdrawal, but you may block strictly necessary cookies in your browser. Some functions, such as the user account, may then be unavailable.
Protection against automated attacks (Imunify360 / ImunifySecurity)
Purpose: Our server runs the security solution Imunify360 (ImunifySecurity). It detects and blocks automated attacks such as brute-force attempts, malware uploads, spam bots and suspicious access patterns. In individual cases the service may perform a brief technical check before access to confirm that the request comes from a regular browser.
Data categories: IP address, time and type of request, requested address, browser identifier and – where a threat is detected – the resulting security rating.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in defending against attacks and protecting the data stored on the server, including the data of our users.
Retention: Security logs are deleted together with the server log files after 14 days at the latest. Temporary blocks of individual IP addresses expire automatically.
Recipients / third countries: The check is carried out on our own server. No personal data is transferred to a third country.
Objection: An objection under Art. 21 GDPR is possible; for security reasons, however, the website cannot be operated without attack protection.
Audience measurement with Matomo (self-hosted)
Purpose: We want to know which content is read and whether the website works technically. For this we use the open-source software Matomo, which we run ourselves on the server stats.ssn-computer.de. Matomo is loaded only after you have consented to the purpose “Statistics” in the cookie dialog (CCM19). It is configured to work without cookies, to shorten your IP address before it is stored and to honour the browser signal “Do Not Track”. Only statistical data is generated, no user profiles.
Data categories: Shortened IP address (the last two octets are removed), page viewed, time, approximate region derived from the shortened IP address, referrer, browser type, operating system, screen resolution.
Legal basis: Your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. Without consent Matomo is not loaded and no data is collected.
Retention: Raw data on individual page views is deleted automatically after 180 days. Aggregated reports without personal reference (for example page views per month) are retained.
Recipients / third countries: No transfer to third parties. The statistics server is part of the controller’s own infrastructure and is located in Germany.
Withdrawal: Via “Cookie settings” in the page footer you can withdraw your consent for “Statistics” at any time with effect for the future. In addition, Matomo honours the browser setting “Do Not Track”.
Google AdSense (only with your consent)
Purpose: To fund the editorial content we display advertisements on selected pages via Google AdSense. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. AdSense is loaded only if you have agreed via our consent banner (CCM19, IAB TCF standard). Without consent no Google code is executed and no data is sent to Google. Depending on your choice, Google shows personalised ads (based on your interests and usage behaviour) or non-personalised ads (based only on the page content and approximate region). Advertising on this website is always labelled “Anzeige” (advertisement).
Data categories: IP address, cookies and similar identifiers (such as advertising IDs), information about pages viewed and ads displayed or clicked, browser and device information, approximate location; for personalised ads additionally interest categories that Google derives from your usage behaviour.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG (consent).
Retention: The lifetime of cookies and identifiers set by Google is determined by Google. Details are available at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. Our own consent record is kept for one year (see CCM19).
Recipients / third countries: Google Ireland Limited and affiliated Google companies, in particular Google LLC in the USA. The transfer to the USA is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF); Google LLC is certified under the DPF. The European Commission’s standard contractual clauses apply in addition. Further information: policies.google.com/privacy.
Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by clicking “Cookie settings” in the page footer and deselecting advertising. Ads will then no longer be loaded. You can additionally disable personalised advertising in your Google account at adssettings.google.com.
Google Site Kit (connecting the editorial system to Google services)
Purpose: The WordPress plugin Google Site Kit is installed in the administration area of our website. It connects our editorial system to our Google accounts (Search Console, AdSense) so that we can view reports – for example the search queries through which our pages are found, or advertising revenue – directly in the back end. In the public part of the website, Site Kit loads no Google Analytics tag and no other Google code. Data is transferred to Google in the front end only within Google AdSense and only after your consent (see above).
Data categories: Site Kit retrieves aggregated report data from our Google accounts. It does not collect personal data of individual visitors.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in evaluating and developing our content).
Retention: Report data is only cached temporarily in the back end and refreshed regularly; no visitor data of our own is created.
Recipients / third countries: When reports are retrieved, our server communicates with Google Ireland Limited. No data about you as a visitor is transmitted in the process.
Objection: As Site Kit does not process any visitor data, an objection is without object.
Contact form and e-mail delivery via Microsoft 365
Purpose: When you write to us via the contact form, your details are stored to handle your enquiry. Delivery of the message to us and the sending of transactional e-mails (acknowledgement of receipt, reply to your enquiry, confirmation e-mail for the newsletter sign-up) take place via Microsoft 365 and the Microsoft Graph interface. The provider is Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland.
Data categories: E-mail address, optionally your name, the content of your message, time of the enquiry, for confirmation e-mails also the confirmation link; technical delivery metadata (timestamp, delivery status).
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual steps; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). Newsletter confirmation e-mails are based on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (see Newsletter).
Retention: Contact enquiries are deleted once your request has been dealt with conclusively and no statutory retention obligations apply. Delivery logs are deleted after 30 days.
Recipients / third countries: Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited as processor; we have concluded a data processing agreement with Microsoft. Processing by Microsoft Corporation in the USA cannot be ruled out. It is based on Microsoft’s certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF) and, in addition, on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Further information: privacy.microsoft.com.
Objection: You may object to the processing informally at any time, for example by e-mail to the address given in the legal notice. Your enquiry will then be deleted unless retention obligations apply.
Newsletter with double opt-in
Purpose: Our newsletter informs you about new articles, recipes and tools on StoffwechselFit. Sign-up uses a double opt-in procedure: after entering your e-mail address you receive a confirmation e-mail containing a link. The subscription becomes effective only when you click that link. This ensures that nobody can subscribe your address without your knowledge.
Data categories: E-mail address, time of sign-up, time of confirmation, chosen language (German or English), the version of the consent text you agreed to, and the time of any unsubscription. The confirmation e-mail and the newsletters are sent via Microsoft 365 (see above).
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). The sign-up record serves as proof of consent under Art. 7(1) GDPR.
Retention: Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted automatically after 7 days. After you unsubscribe, your data is deleted after 30 days; until then it is kept solely to detect accidental re-subscriptions and misuse. While you are subscribed we keep the data in order to send you the newsletter.
Recipients / third countries: Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited as processor for delivery (see above). No disclosure to any other third party.
Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent at any time. Every newsletter e-mail contains an unsubscribe link for this purpose. Alternatively, an informal message to the address given in the legal notice is sufficient. The lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.
User account (optional, currently by invitation only)
Purpose: Where we offer a user account – currently by invitation only; there is no open registration – it serves to save recipes as favourites, keep a shopping list and put together a weekly plan. All content on the website can be used in full without an account. Access to the account is possible only with two-factor authentication.
Data categories: E-mail address, password (stored only as a cryptographic hash), set-up data for the second factor, time of registration and of the last login, your saved favourites, shopping lists and weekly plans. No health data is stored in the user account. Values you enter into the calculators and trackers on this website remain in your browser and are not transmitted to our server.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (provision of the account functions you requested). Two-factor authentication and encryption serve the security of processing under Art. 32 GDPR.
Retention: Account data is stored encrypted on the server for as long as the account exists (account functions are available only while this encryption is active). You can delete your account yourself at any time in the account settings or ask us to delete it; the data is then removed promptly.
Recipients / third countries: No transfer to third parties, no transfer to a third country. The data is held on our own server in Germany.
Withdrawal / deletion: You can delete the account at any time via the account settings or on request.
VG WORT tracking pixel (METIS)
Purpose: On text pages we embed counting marks of the German collecting society Verwertungsgesellschaft WORT (VG WORT), Untere Weidenstraße 5, 81543 Munich, Germany. Its METIS system determines how often a text is read so that authors can claim the statutory remuneration provided for under the German Copyright Act (in particular Sections 53 and 54 UrhG).
Data categories: When the counting mark is loaded, a request is sent to the VG WORT counting server. The IP address in shortened form, the time of the request and the identifier of the counting mark are processed. No cookies are set and no information is stored on your device; no user profiles are created.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the fair remuneration of copyrighted texts as provided for by law.
Retention: VG WORT stores only the shortened access counts, which cannot be traced back to you, in order to determine access frequency.
Recipients / third countries: VG WORT, Munich. No transfer to a third country. Further information: vgwort.de/datenschutz.
Objection: You may object to the processing under Art. 21 GDPR or prevent the counting mark from loading with a content blocker in your browser; the website remains fully usable.
