What the formulation delivers
Vitamin D and blood sugar
As with the NATURTREU counterpart: the association between low vitamin D levels and diabetes risk is documented , but the D2d study (NEJM 2019) could not show a significant protective effect of supplementation in prediabetes .
The benefit lies elsewhere and is well documented there: vitamin D contributes to the normal function of bones, muscles and the immune system – there are authorised claims for this .
On quality
The product uses K2VITAL with 99.7% all-trans MK-7. That is a relevant quality point: only the all-trans form is biologically active, cis isomers are ineffective. A high all-trans content is therefore a genuine differentiator, not a marketing detail.
Practical note for winter
At our latitudes, solar radiation from around October to March is not sufficient for the body’s own vitamin D production. In this period a deficiency is realistic – that is the context in which supplementation makes sense.
What to watch out for
Fat-soluble, can be overdosed. Level measurement recommended before high-dose intake. Important: vitamin K2 is contraindicated with vitamin K antagonists.
My measurement plan
No CGM test. Laboratory value 25-OH vitamin D in autumn and in spring.
All of my own measurements are labelled as a single-case observation (n=1) and cannot be transferred to other people.
